About the Role
We are looking for an experienced RMO Manager to join our Clinical Services and Clinical Medical Officer Teams at Timaru Hospital in South Canterbury. Reporting to the General Director of Operations, this role is vital for supporting RMOs in delivering patient care that is customer-focused, safety-conscious, and meets the needs of our local community.
In this position, you will be responsible for the recruitment and selection of RMO staff, as well as providing support to newly qualified staff and those undergoing training programs. Your daily tasks will include general HR support, continuing medical education (CME) planning, rostering, and managing the operational budget for the service.
About You
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, with a natural ability to build relationships and a strong customer service orientation. As this is a fast-paced environment with frequent staff changes, it is essential that you have experience in providing advisory and business partner support.
Key qualifications for success in this role include:
- A solid understanding of the principles of MECA and associated legislative requirements, including leave and payroll execution
- Knowledge of medical council requirements
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills and extensive experience with various IT systems, including the Microsoft suite of tools
