About the Role
We are currently seeking a Checkpoint Processor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for measuring or "scaling" logs. This position is NZQA accredited, and we offer a structured training program that will enable you to gain a recognized qualification. Previous experience is not required, as we provide comprehensive training.
The Checkpoint is a facility where logging trucks arrive to have their logs measured and ticketed for export. As a Checkpoint Processor, you will manually measure each log according to international standards, barcode the logs, and scan them into our system to ensure accurate tracking.
Our Checkpoint is located in Hillsborough, and we emphasize a team-oriented environment where the safety of our staff is our top priority. Shifts may last up to 12 hours and will include some weekend work. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as shift times can vary. Typically, the Checkpoint operates from 5:45 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts based on volume.
About You
We are looking for individuals who have a strong attention to detail and take pride in their accuracy when taking measurements. You should enjoy engaging with truck drivers and collaborating with your team. This is an active outdoor role that will require you to be on your feet for most of your shift while meeting deadlines. Familiarity with scanning equipment is essential, and holding a full class 1 driver's license is preferred.
