About the Role We are currently seeking a Log Scaler to join our team at The Checkpoint, our facility in Hillsborough where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed for export. This role is NZQA accredited and offers a structured training program, allowing you to gain a recognized qualification without any prior experience. As a Log Scaler, you will manually measure each log using international standards, barcode the logs, and input them into our tracking system, ensuring that every log can be followed throughout the export process. The Checkpoint operates between 5:45 AM and 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on volume, so flexibility in your working hours is essential. In addition to scaling duties, we are also looking for someone with strong data entry skills to provide administrative support at our Log Checkpoint facility. Your primary responsibility will be entering data related to the tracking of logs for export, and you will also provide backup support as a Log Scaler when necessary. About You We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong data entry skills and a commitment to accuracy when taking measurements. You should enjoy communicating with truck drivers and your team members. The role requires you to be comfortable on your feet for a portion of your shift while using scanning equipment.
