Crane Service Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Crane Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial in maintaining, installing, overhauling, repairing, and certifying hydraulic cranes and related equipment.

About the Role
As a Crane Service Technician, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a tidy and safe work area and ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
- Drawing materials from stock and accurately booking parts and labor to each job.
- Performing servicing and repairs on hydraulic units.
- Conducting general hydraulic repairs and assembling components as necessary.
- Troubleshooting electrical and electronic issues and resolving problems.
- Fitting units to vehicles and overseeing the commissioning process.
- Carrying out annual certification of units.
- Performing technical repairs, including ECU fault diagnostics and remote control repairs.
- Ensuring the safe operation of all equipment in the work area for yourself and others.
- Prioritizing safety for yourself and colleagues at all times.
- Reviewing and advising on engineering requirements and technical drawings.
- Communicating effectively with management and relevant parties, keeping them updated and seeking assistance when needed.
- Undertaking any other duties as required, commensurate with your skill level and the role's grading.
About You
To be successful in this position, you should have:
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience as a heavy diesel mechanic or in a similar role.
- A formal trade qualification.
- Excellent decision-making skills and a strong understanding of general motor/diesel mechanics, mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with flammable liquids or gas tank wagons is a plus.
- An HGV Truck and Trailer driver’s license (Class 5) and DG endorsement would be advantageous, though this is not a driving role.
