Description
About the Company
At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are proud to be the largest children's dental provider in New Zealand. Our mission is to deliver exceptional healthcare to all New Zealanders, grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce to better serve our communities.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our Central 3 Dental Team in a permanent full-time position. In this role, you will support our dental therapists in providing care to children aged 6 months to 18 years. Your responsibilities will also include administrative support as needed.
Our Auckland Regional Dental Service operates as a community-based free dental service, encompassing both hub clinics and mobile services. You will have the opportunity to work directly in the community, collaborating with children, their families, schools, and other health providers.
We offer work coveralls and free onsite parking for our staff. The hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential opportunities for Saturday work. While a background in dental assistance is beneficial, it is not essential as we provide comprehensive training. Basic computer skills are expected.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our Central 3 Dental Team consists of 25 members serving the eastern Auckland areas, including Glen Innes, Pt England, Sylvia Park, and Otahuhu. Flexibility is key in this role, as you may be required to cover other teams as needed.
About You
We are looking for candidates who share our core values:
- Everyone Matters: A commitment to supporting colleagues, patients, and their families.
- Better, Best, Brilliant: A can-do attitude with the willingness to work across the team in various locations while being efficient and organized.
- Compassion: A thoughtful and caring approach towards colleagues and patients alike.
- Connected: A team player who communicates clearly and effectively.
