About the Role
We currently have multiple Caregiver positions available at Jean Sandel Retirement Village in New Plymouth. We are looking for compassionate individuals who are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our elderly residents.
To qualify for this role, you must meet one of the following requirements:
- A Level 3 Health and Wellbeing certificate or equivalent combined with two years of relevant experience, or
- A Level 4 Health and Wellbeing certificate or equivalent.
You will be expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, which may include shifts on weekends. The hourly wage ranges from $27.88 to $30.40, depending on your level of experience.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Providing care and personal assistance as outlined in residents' care plans under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Observing and promptly reporting any changes in a resident's status or behavior to the Registered Nurse or senior staff.
- Ensuring the safety, privacy, and comfort of our residents at all times.
- Demonstrating empathy and understanding of residents’ needs while offering support and assistance.
- Documenting the care provided to residents in an objective and timely manner.
