About the Role
We are currently seeking an Electrical Supervisor to oversee and manage the electrical Balance of Plant construction for our New Zealand Project located in Te Aroha, Waikato Region. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment are installed, maintained, and repaired safely and efficiently.
As the Electrical Supervisor, you will lead a team of electricians, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget. This position requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage resources to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all Balance of Plant electrical works, including MV and LV trenches, inverters, combiner boxes, earthing, and fibre optics.
- Manage a team of electrical contractors to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of work.
- Develop and implement electrical maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and safety of all electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical equipment and supplies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to electricians and other staff members.
- Develop and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance records.
About You
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical installations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HV/MV electrical systems, including 33kV reticulation, substations, and transmission lines.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to high-voltage environments.
- Proven experience in electrical testing and commissioning, particularly for HV systems.
- Valid certifications related to high-voltage electrical work (e.g., HV certification, First Aid, Electrical Safety Standards).
- A valid Driver’s License and Construction Passport.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
The Roster
This position is a full-time contract role, working Monday through Friday for the duration of the project. Please note that no FIFO roster is available.
