About the Role
We are currently seeking Process Workers for our upcoming 2025-2026 season, starting in October. While relevant experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory, as we provide comprehensive training for all new employees. These positions are available for both day and night shifts.
Located on Ferry Road in Eltham, our facility requires applicants who are flexible and able to work on Saturdays and Sundays. The roles are full-time, offering a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a guaranteed minimum weekly wage of $705.00. Additionally, there is potential to earn more through various allowances, including piece rates. Please note that hours may fluctuate above the 30-hour minimum in response to seasonal workflows and annual close-down periods.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Process Worker, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Performing yard duties and handling livestock
- Processing meat carcasses according to customer specifications
- Safely separating organs and glands from carcasses using proper knife handling techniques
- Operating machinery to process, pack, and transfer carcasses or products
- Packing boned meat and meat products into cartons
- Moving carcasses to chillers and freezers
- Loading meat products onto trucks
- Cleaning and sanitizing work equipment and areas
