About the Role
We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to join our team at our Levin plant. This role offers a variety of shift patterns, including Monday to Friday shifts, with the potential for overtime. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring machine output and ensuring that all products meet client specifications and quality standards.
While previous experience in machine operation is advantageous, we are committed to providing full training for those who may not have a manufacturing background. It is important to note that this role requires physical fitness, as some heavy lifting is involved. You will participate in a comprehensive site induction and receive training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). We encourage our employees to pursue career progression and will support you in advancing through the levels within our organization.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining continuous operation of production machinery
- Ensuring batch weight inputs are correct and meet job requirements
- Optimizing machine output according to the production plan
- Monitoring and minimizing scrap
- Identifying areas for potential improvement and seeking to upskill
- Conducting quality checks on finished products
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualities:
- Good numeracy and literacy skills, along with a solid mechanical understanding
- Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work
- Previous experience operating machinery in a factory environment is advantageous, but not required
- A clean criminal record and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- A positive attitude and adaptability to learn new systems
- Team-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively
- Attention to detail and thoroughness
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role
