About the Role We currently have two openings for skilled Industrial Painters to join our high-performing team in Wellington. This is a full-time, permanent position, and while the primary location is in Wellington, some travel to other regions may be required. The pay rate ranges from $28.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with a minimum guarantee of 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be involved in various tasks, including: - Adhering to all Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems and procedures - Undertaking water blasting on various substrates, such as steel beams and concrete walls - Working at heights and operating access machinery and equipment - Preparing surfaces using hand and power tools according to client specifications - Sandblasting steel substrates at various client sites using abrasive blast equipment - Applying specific protective paints using airless spray equipment as per client specifications - Utilizing WFT combs and electronic gauges while maintaining QA/QC records - Mixing and applying different types of paints in accordance with specifications - Participating in required training and being flexible regarding location and overnight stays for projects - Driving company vehicles as needed About You We are seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in protective coatings, with relevant skills and/or qualifications in areas such as: - Abrasive blasting - Water blasting - Steelwork preparation (mechanical and hand prep) - Spray painting - Industrial painting The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, physically fit, enjoy teamwork, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
