About the Company We are a vibrant cafe located in Bishopdale, Christchurch, known for our commitment to quality and community. Our team is passionate about providing delicious baked goods and exceptional service to our customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated baker to join our team in a full-time, permanent position. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of baking tasks essential to our operations. We offer a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, and you will need to be available to work according to the roster, which includes weekends. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: - Maintaining cleanliness of bakery equipment and the premises - Baking daily quantities of bread, rolls, and other bakery products - Ensuring the quality of raw materials and accurately weighing ingredients - Preparing pastry fillings while minimizing waste - Baking, icing, and decorating bakery items for customer orders and display - Producing other bakery-specific products as needed - Receiving inwards goods and ensuring compliance with food safety standards - Monitoring oven temperatures and operating baking machinery - Coordinating the processes of forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products Requirements To be considered for this position, we prefer candidates with two years of relevant experience or a Level 4 qualification in baking. Additionally, you must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and provide references from previous employers.
