About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Kapiti Community ORA Team. This position is community-based and offers the chance to work within a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to support patients through equipment provision, housing modifications, and rehabilitation solutions. Our goal is to maximize patient independence at home and help them achieve their functional objectives.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who can apply their skills across various aspects of our service, focusing on rehabilitative approaches to enhance patient well-being, including the provision of wheeled mobility solutions. This role also offers opportunities for professional development in line with our service's objectives.
About the Team/Service/Location
The ORA community service provides support to individuals with acquired neurological, long-term, or age-related conditions, such as stroke, dementia, frailty, and post-trauma challenges. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Language Therapists, Dietitians, a Liaison Nurse, Allied Health Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners, all working closely with an attached Geriatrician. We take pride in our supportive and collegial relationships within the team.

About You
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with a positive attitude and diverse skills suitable for a community setting. In our team, Occupational Therapists play a crucial role in assisting individuals and families by providing assessments and advice on equipment, wheeled mobility, and housing modifications to effectively meet people's needs.
You should possess a strong understanding of Enable processes, sound clinical skills, and the confidence to engage effectively with clients. You will need to be aware of service priorities and constraints while managing your caseload efficiently to maintain effective patient flow.
A current registration/APC and a valid New Zealand driver’s license are required for this role.
