About the Role In this full-time, permanent position based in Rangiora, you will become an integral part of our Environment Health Team within the Environment Services Unit. As our district continues to grow, we are witnessing an increasing demand for our environmental health services. Your role will be vital in supporting the health and safety of our community. Your responsibilities will include: - Verifying food businesses in accordance with the Food Act 2014 and addressing food safety complaints as a Food Safety Officer. - Inspecting and reporting on alcohol license applications in line with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. - Managing health risks associated with businesses registered under the Health Act 1956. What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with: - A diploma or degree in Environmental Health Science, or an equivalent qualification as outlined in the Environmental Health Officers Qualifications Regulations 1992. - Strong communication and organizational skills. - A collaborative mindset with the ability to provide technical advice to various stakeholders. - A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. - Experience as a verifier and in alcohol licensing inspection is preferred.
