About the Role
We are looking for a Labourer/General Hand to join our busy seafood processing site. In this hands-on and physical role, you will support production, loading, and yard operations. You will collaborate closely with the driver and another labourer, contributing to a team-based environment. This position is temporary with the potential for permanent employment, providing you with an opportunity to grow your skills and career.
The work schedule is from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for early starts and finishes.
Requirements
- Forklift Operator Certificate is essential.
- Class 2 truck license is advantageous.
- Must be physically fit as the role involves heavy lifting.
- Candidates should be honest, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Valid New Zealand working rights are required.
Duties
- Unload the blast freezer from the previous day.
- Load and unload fresh and frozen products.
- Operate the forklift on site.
- Prepare fish for factory processing.
- Maintain cleanliness in the yard and equipment.
Benefits
- Start rate of $26 to $27 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on skills and experience.
- A monthly attendance bonus of $1.50 per hour, which is paid once you become a permanent employee.
- Unused sick days are compensated annually as a bonus.
- Scheduled holiday periods in May (1 week), October (2 weeks), and Christmas (2 weeks).
