About the Company
Whitestone Contracting Ltd is an award-winning civil construction company based in Oamaru, operating across the Lower South Island, including regions such as Waitaki, Dunedin, Central Otago, and Mackenzie. About the Role
We are currently seeking individuals who are eager to embrace new challenges and leverage their roading maintenance expertise and leadership abilities to serve our community, enhance the environment, and deliver exceptional value to our clients. You will work in beautiful locations throughout Otago and South Canterbury, including Oamaru, Queenstown, the Mackenzie Country, and Dunedin.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in our operations by overseeing excavator work on various key projects. Your responsibilities will include trenching, drainage, and general earthworks, where your expertise will significantly contribute to the success of our projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other plant machinery, including loaders and rollers
- Support site crews with daily construction tasks
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
- Contribute to key projects and regional development
- Seek opportunities for personal development, including potential leadership growth
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators in a civil construction environment
- Class 4 licence with W, T, R endorsements is preferred
- Skills in drainage, roading, or general earthworks are advantageous
- A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- A motivated team player who is reliable and ready to take initiative
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards is essential
