About the Role We are currently seeking a clinical psychologist to join our Child Development Service team on a permanent, part-time basis (0.8 FTE, or 32 hours per week). Our multi-disciplinary team specializes in providing developmental assessments, including cognitive and neuropsychological evaluations, as well as assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder. We adopt a holistic approach to support children with disabilities, enabling them to reach their full potential within their families and broader environments. Teamwork is a fundamental aspect of this role, as you will collaborate with medical and allied health professionals. The position is based at the Puketiro Centre in Porirua, but the successful candidate should be willing to work across all Child Development sites in the region, from Wellington to Kapiti. About the Team/Service/Location The Child Development team comprises a dedicated group of allied health professionals who work within a transdisciplinary model. Our approach focuses on helping children achieve their maximum potential while considering their families and extended environments. Our team includes Speech Language Therapists, Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, a Social Worker, a Clinical Pathway Coordinator, and an ASD Coordinator, along with a small team of support staff. About You The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be comfortable conducting assessments. You should be able to work collaboratively and supportively with team members to ensure the delivery of appropriate assessments and treatments. Building and maintaining excellent working relationships within the team is essential. To qualify for this role, you must have current registration with the Psychologists Board in the clinical psychologist scope of practice, as well as a current Annual Practicing Certificate. Previous experience working with children and families in the field of disability is advantageous. The ability to conduct neuropsychological assessments is a requirement for this position.
