About the Role We are seeking Clinical Psychologists to join our Intellectual Disability Forensic Service within the inpatient services. This role will involve working across our Regional and National Intellectual Disability Secure Services, which include: - Haumietiketike: A regional secure forensic unit for adults with 11 beds. - Step-Down Rehabilitative Cottages: Two separate buildings for adults, each with four beds. - Hikitia Te Wairua: The National secure forensic unit for young people, co-located with the Rangatahi (Youth Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit) and Nga Taiohi (National Secure Youth Forensic Unit) at Kenepuru Hospital. - Manawai: A national facility catering to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illnesses requiring long-term hospital-level care. As part of a supportive and experienced multi-disciplinary team, you will provide specialist care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in secure settings. We value your areas of professional interest and encourage your expertise in psychological assessment, formulation, and both individual and group treatment. In this role, you will collaborate with other health professionals to design and implement evidence-based care and rehabilitation in line with our Model of Care. This model is grounded in psychological theories and frameworks, including The Good Lives Model of Offender Rehabilitation and Positive Behaviour Support. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement initiatives, as our Intellectual Disability Service is expanding and actively seeks psychological knowledge, theory, and processes. Additionally, you will receive support from the broader Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Services (MHAIDS) network of clinical psychologists. About the Team/Service/Location Our Forensic Intellectual Disability Service is part of the Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Services, encompassing adult, youth, and community services. The Intellectual Disability Secure Service offers a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters autonomous practice, research, and professional development. You will be joining a dedicated multi-disciplinary team committed to providing gold-standard care and rehabilitation to our population. Our team possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in areas pertinent to intellectual disabilities, mental health, and challenging behaviors. About You To be considered for this position, you should have completed a postgraduate diploma in clinical psychology (or an equivalent qualification) and hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology. You must also possess an annual practicing certificate and be registered within the clinical scope of practice.
