About the Role
As a Commercial Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in our commercial projects in Southland. This position is perfect for an individual with a strong work ethic and substantial carpentry experience. You will be expected to work independently on various tasks, contributing to the successful completion of diverse commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Assemble structural steel, install tilt panels, and perform formwork.
- Install frames and carry out finishing work.
- Utilize a range of tools and materials effectively.
- Maintain site cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols.
- Solve problems as they arise, making adjustments and proposing solutions to overcome challenges during construction.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in commercial carpentry is preferred.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of addressing unexpected challenges on-site.
- Ownership of tools and a valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Site safe certification, working at heights certification, and EWP ticket are not essential but are advantageous.
