About the Role
We are seeking a Heavy Maintenance Foreperson to become an integral part of our Green Team, with plans to start project work in July 2025. This contract involves maintaining a comprehensive network of approximately 1200 kilometers of sealed and unsealed roads, covering areas from Huntly to Pokeno, including rural and coastal regions.
Based in Rangiriri, you will lead a crew responsible for various heavy maintenance tasks. These tasks include stabilised pavement repairs, drainage work, concrete works, structural maintenance and repairs, slip removal and repairs, minor earthworks, and unsealed road renewals.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Appropriate licenses (Class 2 + WTR)
- Proficiency in operating a range of civil engineering and roading plant
- Experience in road construction and ideally maintenance operations
- Strong leadership skills with experience in motivating a team
- Willingness to be hands-on and support your team with diverse tasks
- Suitable Traffic Management (TTM) accreditation and First Aid certification are desirable
- Availability for on-call work, with the ability to reach the job site within 60 minutes for call-outs
- Familiarity with RAMM is beneficial
- A strong focus on health and safety for yourself, your colleagues, and the public
- A reliable, honest team player who leads by example
