About the Role We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team based in Mt Wellington. In this role, you will have the autonomy to plan work orders, estimate labor hours, and determine the necessary tools and resources required for various tasks. You will also collaborate with an experienced team that works cooperatively to achieve desired outcomes. A typical day may involve collaborating with the Site Services team to address NH3 plant faults, performing diagnostics and repairs on equipment such as pneumatics, PLCs, conveyors, and pumps. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation and compliance of preventative maintenance checklists and other standardized procedures. Your success in this position will be measured by your ability to increase production productivity by reducing plant downtime through mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as preventative maintenance activities. Shifts & Hours Our operations follow a 12-hour shift pattern with a 2-2-3 roster during peak season, consisting of two weeks on days followed by two weeks on nights, with every second weekend free. During off-peak times, shifts are a hybrid 5-2 schedule of five 8.25-hour days from Monday to Friday, with one Sunday a month required. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience: - An industrial electrician qualification (EWRB registered with a full electrical practicing license) with at least five years of post-qualification experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. - Excellent initiative and problem-solving abilities. - A self-motivated approach with the ability to manage your own workload. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. - Computer literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft suite and knowledge of CMMS. - Applied knowledge of the installation of Danfoss and Allen Bradley variable speed drives is desirable. - Solid maintenance and engineering experience, preferably within the FMCG or food manufacturing environment. - Familiarity with JSAA and permit to work systems. - A full clean Class 1 driver's license. - Over five years of experience with mechanical repairs and installations in the food manufacturing industry. - Experience managing spare parts and materials. - Ability to perform diagnostic tests and root cause analysis to identify machinery or equipment problems. - Routine inspection and testing of equipment and machinery.
