About the Role
We are currently seeking a Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Air New Zealand Lounge in Nelson. This is a casual position, with hours based on business needs. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service, ensuring our customers enjoy a memorable and relaxing experience.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide proactive and friendly food and beverage service to customers.
- Set up, clean, and maintain lounge areas to create a welcoming environment.
- Prepare and serve beverages, including espresso coffee, while adhering to responsible service practices.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, following food safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure a high level of service.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- Experience in a similar role with strong communication skills.
- A flexible approach and attitude, demonstrating a good team player mentality.
- Physical fitness and reliability, along with a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience in a catering environment and an NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) are desirable.
