About the Role
We are excited to invite you to join our dynamic team at the Air New Zealand Lounge in Nelson as a Catering Assistant. This is a permanent part-time position where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food and beverage service, ensuring our customers enjoy a memorable and relaxing experience.
Your Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Providing proactive and friendly food and beverage service to our customers.
- Setting up, cleaning, and maintaining lounge areas to create a welcoming environment.
- Preparing and serving beverages, including espresso coffee, in a responsible manner.
- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of food items while adhering to food safety standards.
- Communicating effectively with team members and customers to ensure a high level of service.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Experience in a similar role, with strong communication skills.
- A flexible approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and reliability, along with a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
- The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Previous experience in a catering environment and an NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) are desirable.
