Weekend Landfill Customer Assistant

About the Role We are currently looking for a dedicated individual to join our team in a hands-on, customer-facing role. This position offers immediate start with a pay rate of $26.00 per hour. The working hours are as follows: - Saturday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM - Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining a safe and efficient site. Your key duties will include assisting and advising customers, particularly the elderly or those in need of help, ensuring safety by guiding customer behavior and identifying potential hazards, and communicating with the Weighbridge team to rectify any charge errors. Additionally, you will direct customers to the appropriate disposal areas for hazardous waste, scrap metal, and e-waste. You may also liaise with the loader operator and act as a spotter when necessary, and it will be your responsibility to keep the site clean and tidy. Requirements We are looking for a reliable individual with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: - Ability to remain calm under pressure and confidently engage with the public - Non-confrontational demeanor with the capability to de-escalate situations - Physically capable and willing to take on manual tasks - A strong commitment to punctuality and reliability Additionally, applicants should be able to follow instructions, show a willingness to learn, and have reliable transportation to and from work. Candidates must also be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with random drug tests thereafter.
