About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join our team at the Defence site located at Linton Military Camp in Palmerston North. This is a permanent full-time position with a roster that spans seven days a week, including both day and night shifts.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals, ensuring the quality of every dish we deliver. You will also assist with ordering and menu development while managing allergen and nutrition considerations to promote the health and wellbeing of our customers.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen, catering to a large number of people.
- Proficiency in short order cooking.
- Relevant qualifications, including food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167).
- The ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
- Confidence in working independently.
- A passion for excellent food, customer service, and quality.
