About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Haematology to join our team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate nursing care for patients with haematological malignancies and chronic blood disorders, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Your responsibilities will include conducting advanced clinical assessments, guiding patients through complex treatment pathways, leading nurse-led clinics, and collaborating with Haematologists and other members of our multidisciplinary team.
You will also play a key role in service development, provide leadership and education to nursing staff, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives. This position is highly rewarding for individuals who are passionate about specialist care, patient advocacy, and making a significant impact on patient outcomes.

Our Haematology service is part of a larger Oncology and Medical Day Stay unit. We are a dedicated and collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting each other’s professional growth.

About You
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Significant clinical experience in haematology, oncology, or a related specialty
- A postgraduate qualification in specialty nursing (or actively working towards it), ideally at a Master’s level
- Excellent communication and clinical leadership skills
- A commitment to delivering equitable, culturally safe, and person-centered care
