Bakery Manager

About the Role We are currently seeking a Bakery Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The days of work are negotiable but will include at least one weekend day. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily bakery operations, ensuring the production of a wide range of high-quality bakery products, and leading a talented team. Daily tasks in this position include: - Creating and managing the production list to guarantee a diverse range of bakery items are available daily - Training and supporting team members to foster a collaborative work environment - Ordering and maintaining essential supplies for the bakery - Implementing and ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards - Delivering outstanding customer service - Merchandising products to meet high presentation standards - Ensuring that bakery equipment is operated and maintained properly, with team members trained on safe usage - Cultivating positive working relationships within the bakery team and the broader New World Kaikoura team Requirements We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes: - At least two years of experience as a baker, along with a qualification equivalent to the New Zealand Certificate in Baking - Excellent communication skills to effectively lead the team - Ability to show initiative and be reliable - Physical fitness, as the role requires being on your feet throughout the day - A good sense of humor and a positive approach to the workday - A passion for delivering excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers - Enjoyment of early starts - Strong presentation skills and meticulous attention to detail Please note that our busiest times include long weekends, public holidays, and summer holidays.
