About the Role
We are currently seeking Process Workers for our upcoming 2025 - 2026 season, starting in October. We have openings for both day and night shifts. While relevant experience is advantageous, it is not a requirement, as we provide comprehensive training for all new employees.
Our facility is located on Seafield Road in Ashburton. Applicants should be prepared to work weekends, as these positions require full availability on Saturdays and Sundays. This is a full-time role, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week, ensuring a base salary of at least $705.00 weekly. There is potential for additional earnings through allowances and piece rates, and hours may exceed 30 per week depending on seasonal workflow and annual close-down periods.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Process Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing yard duties and handling livestock
- Processing meat carcasses according to customer specifications
- Safely separating organs and glands from carcasses using proper knife handling techniques
- Operating machinery to process, pack, and transfer carcasses or products
- Packing boned meat and meat products into cartons
- Moving carcasses to chillers and freezers
- Loading meat products into trucks
- Cleaning and sanitizing work equipment and areas
