About the Role
We are seeking an Administration Support Officer to join our small, close-knit team. This full-time position is fixed-term for 12 months, Monday to Friday, and offers a dynamic and varied work environment.
In this essential role, you will be responsible for the efficient receipt and distribution of goods at the Hawkes Bay Regional Prison, ensuring that all deliveries adhere to established prison rules and procedures. You will engage in daily physical deliveries across the site, providing an excellent opportunity to stay active while contributing to our operations.
Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including:
- Management of Prisoner Trust Accounts, including setup and receipting
- Accounts payable processes such as reconciliations, receiving goods, and maintaining inventory
- General administrative duties including telephone support, processing incoming mail (including prisoner mail), courier management, copying, and filing
- Payroll support, including collecting timesheets and assisting managers with leave and overtime information
- Financial support involving general ledger reconciliations, receipting of goods, purchasing, and preparing financial reports
Requirements
To succeed in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and attributes:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management abilities and attention to detail
- Capability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Experience working effectively both in a team and independently
- Willingness to undertake a variety of administrative tasks
- Good physical fitness to handle unloading of pallets and delivering items across the site
- A full New Zealand driver's license

Benefits
The salary range for this position, effective from July 1, 2025, is $64,717 to $68,434 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
