    About the Company We are a vibrant South Indian takeaway restaurant located in Christchurch, committed to delivering authentic and high-quality cuisine to our valued customers. Our team is passionate about food and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in every aspect of our service. About the Role We are currently looking to hire three dedicated and reliable cooks to join our team. The ideal candidates will be passionate about South Indian cuisine and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and late evenings. The pay range for this position is between $25.00 and $28.00 per hour. Your Responsibilities Will Include In this role, you will oversee daily food preparation to ensure that our quality standards are consistently met. You will be responsible for training and supervising junior kitchen staff as necessary, as well as estimating daily production requirements. It is essential to check the quality of both raw and cooked items to uphold our standards. You will ensure that all aspects of food production, preparation, and presentation meet the highest quality standards. This includes applying your knowledge of standard procedures related to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation. A thorough understanding of all menu items, recipes, preparation methods, and presentation guidelines is crucial. You will uphold hygiene and safety protocols, ensuring the proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils. Efficient management of tasks will help meet our production deadlines. Regular inspections of food storage areas for correct practices and expiry dates are also essential, as well as enforcing strict adherence to health codes and cleanliness standards in both the kitchen and storage areas. Additionally, you will ensure accuracy in plating, including appropriate garnishing, portion sizes, and serving dishes, while complying with all health and safety regulations. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should have 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience, or possess a relevant qualification. You must also be able to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
