About the Role
We are seeking a QPS Business Partner to join our Quality and Patient Safety Team at Waikato Hospital, a major regional hospital located in Hamilton. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, requiring 80 hours per fortnight. In this action-oriented role, you will ensure that quality and patient safety are integral to our operations. You will collaborate with various teams, including Risk, Consumer Engagement, and Clinical Effectiveness, to facilitate communication, understand clinical issues, and drive improvements. Experience in quality improvement will be advantageous, and you will report directly to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and link them to the Health Quality and Safety Commission.
- Provide reporting on service quality performance.
- Advise services on risk management, ensuring that the risk register is current, and that mitigations are in place and monitored.
About the Team
Our Quality and Patient Safety Team is responsible for overseeing various aspects of quality and patient safety, including Infection Prevention Control, Certification, and Regulatory Compliance.
About Hamilton
Waikato Hospital serves as the regional hub for the Midland area, which encompasses the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. As a leading tertiary teaching hospital, we offer a broad range of hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy, with approximately 722 inpatient beds and 22 operating theatres.
Hamilton is a vibrant city nestled along the Waikato River, offering a unique blend of nature and culture. About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registration with a healthcare body in New Zealand.
- A genuine interest in enhancing Quality and Patient Safety.
- The ability to engage in diverse quality and patient safety activities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
