About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Food, Beverage & Conferencing team, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality food service across campus. This position involves a variety of tasks, including customer service, barista duties, kitchen support, and catering for events. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our vibrant university community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing outstanding customer service in cafés and food service areas
- Performing barista duties and assisting with bar service
- Maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dishwashing areas
- Setting up and packing down service stations
- Adhering to food safety procedures and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Supporting catering for university events and functions
This is a fixed-term position starting as soon as possible and ending in July 2026, covering parental leave. The role offers a competitive pay rate of $27.80 per hour, with hours of work scheduled from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of one year of hospitality experience
- Café/barista training (an advantage)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- The ability to prioritize tasks and uphold high standards
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Honesty, integrity, and a commitment to teamwork
