About the Role We are currently seeking a Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team at Christchurch Airport. In this casual position, you will play a vital role in delivering daily food services to our customers in a busy airport setting. Your responsibilities will include food preparation, maintaining clean dining areas, and providing friendly and professional customer service that aligns with Compass Group's high standards. Please note that hours will be based on business needs and will be scheduled "as and when" required. Your Responsibilities In this role, your key responsibilities will include: - Assisting with the preparation and presentation of food, including portioning and plating. - Delivering warm and friendly customer service while responding promptly to requests. - Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in kitchen, dining, and public areas. - Washing dishes and sanitizing kitchen equipment. - Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures at all times. About You We are looking for candidates who possess: - Experience in a similar catering or hospitality role. - Flexibility, reliability, and physical fitness, along with a strong work ethic. - Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - A positive attitude and a commitment to excellent customer service. - An NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) is preferred.
