About the Role
We are currently seeking a Driver's Assistant to join our team at the depot and assist in delivering products to customers in and around Christchurch. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the efficient operation of the depot and the timely delivery of goods.
Your duties will include sorting freight of various weights and sizes, moving stock, and loading and unloading trailers using lifting aids such as pallet jacks and sack barrows. You will also assist with deliveries to residential homes throughout Christchurch, as well as perform general cleaning and laboring duties around the depot.
This position requires availability from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, based in Islington. The starting rate for this role is $23.50 per hour, plus 8% holiday pay.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should be capable of repetitive heavy lifting (up to 25kg) and have the ability to work effectively under pressure with high volumes of work. A full class 1 driver’s license and reliable transport are essential. We are looking for candidates who are available for an immediate start and are committed to a long-term position.
