About the Role
We are currently looking for experienced Stainless Steel Welder/Fabricators to join our team in Auckland. In this role, you will work on a diverse range of projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to strict safety standards. Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, coupled with proven experience in working with stainless steel, is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks on a variety of projects.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC.
- Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
- Fabricate, shape, and bend custom metal components and pipes using hand and machine tools, as well as plasma and laser cutters.
- Work with structural steel and other metal stock to repair products and structures, including boilers and pressure vessels.
- Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision.
- Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions.
- Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication.
- Trade qualifications are preferred; however, extensive experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
- Proven experience working with stainless steel, including cutting, welding, polishing, and fabricating components to precise specifications.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Possession of personal tools.
- Reliable transportation.
- At least two work references.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety protocols.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
