About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated Electrical Operations Manager to lead and grow our Industrial Division. This hands-on position involves managing a small team of 3 to 4 maintenance electricians while also engaging in on-the-tools work. You will be responsible for driving division performance, preparing job quotes, scheduling preventative maintenance, and nurturing client relationships to further expand the business. This role reports directly to the Director, providing an opportunity to take full ownership of the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the division team, ensuring that daily targets are achieved
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing plans
- Provide prompt and accurate pricing and quoting for work
- Oversee the onboarding, training, and performance reviews of staff
- Plan and manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and accountability
- Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them well informed
- Ensure timely invoicing for completed work
- Resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Meet sales and profit targets while identifying growth opportunities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Undertake additional duties as required
Requirements
- New Zealand Registered Electrician with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role
- Practical, hands-on skills, as this role involves on-the-tools work initially
- Strong pricing and quoting experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- Capability to motivate staff and ensure accountability
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- A strong customer service orientation and ability to build relationships
- Full, clean NZ Class 1 driver’s license
- Knowledge of solar installation and commissioning is an advantage
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
