About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and community-minded Library Customer Facing Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality programs and events that encourage creativity, discovery, and learning.
You will be involved in a variety of initiatives, including school holiday programs, late-night events, preschool programming, and the development of new outreach services. Your role will also include providing responsive and welcoming front-line service to our community. This entails addressing technical issues, offering guidance on book selections, and ensuring all visitors feel welcomed in our libraries.
To excel in this position, we are looking for candidates with experience in event management and outstanding customer service skills. Flexibility to work late nights and weekends is essential. You should bring energy, empathy, strong communication, and organizational skills to our team. A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, inclusivity, and a passion for helping others learn and grow are also crucial.

Benefits
The position offers a varied schedule at different library locations:
- Monday: Kaiapoi Library, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Thursday: Kaiapoi Library, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- Friday: Rangiora Library, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Saturday: Kaiapoi Library, 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM
- Sunday: Rangiora Library, 12:45 PM - 4:15 PM
