    About the Company Waimakariri Libraries is dedicated to serving our diverse and rapidly growing community, or hapori. We believe in the transformative power of libraries and are committed to shaping their future to meet the needs of our patrons. About the Role We are seeking a tech-savvy and community-minded Library Programme & Discovery Assistant to join our team. In this important position, you will be responsible for designing and delivering inclusive, high-quality programs and experiences that encourage lifelong learning, creativity, connection, and discovery. Your role will involve facilitating both self-directed and guided opportunities that promote personal growth, digital confidence, and vocational capability. You will also provide welcoming front-line service, ensuring that our library remains a vibrant hub for all community members. You will work closely with colleagues, schools, and community groups to connect people with resources, ideas, and one another. Our current offerings include a makerspace equipped with a 3D printer, craft cutter, and sewing suite, as well as Code Club and Robotics Club. We are also excited to be developing a podcasting program. Your experience in these areas will be a valuable asset to our team. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess work experience or skills related to learning facilitation, community engagement, or program delivery. We are looking for individuals who bring energy, empathy, and strong communication skills. A commitment to inclusion, cultural awareness, and a passion for helping others learn and grow is essential.
