About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Coder to contribute to our mission. The successful candidate may work from Wairarapa Hospital or have the option to code admissions remotely. This permanent part-time position involves working 48 hours per fortnight, with days and hours to be agreed upon within the timeframe of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide accurate and timely coding of diseases and procedures for all patient admissions at Wairarapa Hospital, along with some procedures completed off-site for Wairarapa services. Given the high demand to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of information, you will need to demonstrate a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize your workload effectively.

About You
The ideal candidate will hold a recognized Medical Terminology qualification and a Clinical Coding qualification, along with experience in New Zealand coding standards. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of two years of relevant health-related clerical, clinical record, nursing, or clinical experience.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, calm, approachable, and efficient, with strong data entry skills and a keen eye for detail. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently while managing your workload in a busy environment are essential. You should also have reliable systems in place to facilitate remote work when necessary.
