About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Team Leader for our Health Centre at Manawatu Prison. This role is ideal for an experienced clinician with advanced nursing knowledge and a passion for empowering others. You will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to our health centre staff while working closely with the Health Centre Manager to ensure the unit operates smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include modeling culturally safe clinical practices and fostering a partnership approach that respects the dignity and inherent mana of those in our care. You will exercise professional judgment to assist the team in resolving complex cases and serve as a primary contact for addressing concerns or potential complaints from the men in our management. Additionally, you will manage team rostering and clinical reporting, and you will have regular opportunities to collaborate with external health providers on referral requests.
Requirements

- A Registered Nurse with a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in nursing, along with leadership experience
- Experience in developing and delivering services through successful liaison
- Strong cultural competence, with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and experience working with Maori, whanau, and iwi
- A demonstrated commitment to providing professional and ethical clinical care focused on offender health needs
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Strong report writing capabilities, along with analytical and problem-solving skills
Benefits
The salary for this role ranges from $114,025 at Step 1 to $121,444 at Step 2. Your appointment and remuneration will be based on your skills and experience relevant to the position.
