About the Role We are currently seeking a Scheduler to join our team based in Hautapu. If you possess a strong work ethic and are eager to be part of a connected and supportive team, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. While previous scheduling or operations experience is preferred, what we value most are your problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and customer service orientation. In this role, reporting to the Scheduling Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely scheduling and dispatch of product deliveries. You will also maintain compliance with legislation, Alexander Group policies, and customer requirements. Your key responsibilities will include: - Managing the end-to-end scheduling process, which involves planning daily schedules and liaising with various stakeholders regarding any changes. - Providing accurate documentation for all deliveries to ensure daily schedules are well planned for maximum efficiency. - Considering scheduling requests and ensuring deliveries meet requirements while remaining compliant with NZTA legislation. - Planning and executing fleet availability to meet customer demands. - Following the maintenance schedule to ensure all vehicles are compliant, in consultation with the Scheduling Supervisor. - Monitoring drivers across all shifts and analyzing GPS data for route management. - Identifying route hazards and black spots and communicating planned routes effectively. - Monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, including fatigue alerts. - Ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurately filed and data entered into the system. - Collaborating with drivers on issues and working with the Scheduling Supervisor to find solutions as a team. The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of being on-call one weekend per month. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - Proven scheduling experience, preferably in a dangerous goods environment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - An understanding of the road transport sector and a background in operations. - High literacy and numerical skills. - Proficiency with computer systems and MS Office. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Strong organizational abilities.
