About the Role
We are currently seeking a Transmission Line Mechanic to join our team, based in either Hamilton or Rotorua. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the construction and maintenance of transmission lines, ensuring our customers' needs are met safely and efficiently. You will be part of a supportive team environment where your contributions are valued, and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills while making a meaningful impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
As a Transmission Line Mechanic, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building and repairing transmission lines in accordance with customer specifications and regulatory standards to ensure reliable and safe power delivery.
- Developing and implementing work plans while managing the construction and maintenance of transmission equipment.
- Completing all necessary field paperwork, which includes inspection reports and asset documentation.
- Proactively identifying and resolving issues that may affect project timelines or quality.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, we are looking for an experienced Transmission Line Mechanic who possesses a strong safety focus and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant transmission certifications and qualifications, such as E1 and E2 or TLM or Level 4 Electricity Supply Transmission.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a transmission line work environment.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver's license (Class 2 is desirable).
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to be part of a high-performing team.
- Live line qualification is preferred but not essential.
