About the Role
We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to join our team at Niagara. This hands-on position will allow you to play a vital role in transforming New Zealand radiata pine into precision, premium timber products. We are looking for someone who enjoys practical work, is well-organised, can work independently, and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.
This is a Monday to Friday, day shift role, providing guaranteed hours with consistent overtime opportunities. Our shift starts at 6:00 am, and we offer competitive pay, including overtime rates for hours worked beyond 40.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Operate the Holtech to ensure a smooth production flow through the Drymill and Dispatch departments.
- Set up and adjust machine settings as needed.
- Conduct regular quality checks on timber products to maintain high standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures while keeping your work area clean and organised.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with the wider team.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualities:
- Self-motivation and reliability, with the ability to work independently.
- A strong sense of responsibility and trustworthiness.
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- A solid commitment to health and safety.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not essential.
