Quantity Surveyor

About the Company ConsultANZ is excited to announce an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil contractor in Christchurch. This role will be pivotal for an upcoming renewable project, offering a chance to work on a large-scale initiative from its inception. About the Role In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers to prepare detailed Scopes of Work, ensuring that all documentation adheres to compliance standards. You will oversee the tender evaluation process, providing recommendations for award based on thorough analysis. Additionally, you will prepare subcontract documents for issuance and coordinate initial meetings following contract awards. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that subcontractors comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements. You will prepare and review payment authorizations for progress claims and manage subcontract variations according to established procedures. Furthermore, you will assess and respond to subcontractor extension of time claims and finalize claims while managing the procurement of deeds of release. Requirements To be successful in this position, you should possess: - A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. - A minimum of four years of experience working with contractors, showcasing a proven track record in estimating and securing large-scale projects. - Proficiency in quantity take-offs and familiarity with standard methods of measurement and standard forms of contract. - Strong skills in first-principles estimating and detailed takeoffs. - A practical and hands-on approach, enhanced by excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - The ability to deliver accurate and timely commercial advice to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Management. - Strong communication skills, with the capacity to convey information professionally and assertively across all levels of the project team.
