About the Role We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our team at Dunedin Hospital in a fixed-term position covering parental leave until August 17, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to promote quality nursing care through research-based practices and take responsibility for patient care and quality improvement initiatives from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include: - Managing the Southland waiting list, ensuring data integrity - Supervising patient waitlist management - Facilitating a smooth patient journey, including timely appointments, treatments, and follow-up care - Supporting Registrar-led follow-up outpatient services - Contributing to ward support for plastic surgery patients, including ward rounds, wound care, and handovers - Developing and implementing care policies and procedures for nurse-appropriate patients About You To be successful in this role, you will need: - A current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse - A strong drive and enthusiasm to advocate for the best model of care for our community - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - Proven clinical practice experience within your specialty area - Ideally, you will already be at a Clinical Nurse Specialist level, and have, or be working towards, a postgraduate diploma and/or a master's degree Working at Health New Zealand We are dedicated to providing excellent healthcare to the people of New Zealand and embrace a workforce that is diverse and inclusive. Salary Range This role is part of the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls within the salary range of Step 1 ($116,040 p.a) to Step 3 ($127,674 p.a pro-rata) on the Designated Senior Nurse Scale Grade 2.
