About the Company
At Napier Port, we are committed to supporting Hawke's Bay's vital global connections through our Crane Services Team. We play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our equipment, which is essential for our operational success. We are currently seeking two Crane Technicians with an electro-mechanical focus and diverse industry experience to join our team.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our mobile harbour cranes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting maintenance activities with precision, responding swiftly to crane breakdowns and equipment failures, and supporting the maintenance of mobile plant as necessary.
You will also be expected to build strong working relationships with both internal teams and external contractors, contributing to a positive team culture that prioritizes health, safety, and wellbeing.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven proficiency with complex electrical and/or mechanical systems, preferably in an industrial or heavy plant environment
- Experience with industrial PLC systems is highly valued
- Familiarity with digitally controlled electrohydraulic or hydromechanical systems
- Registered electrician status or heavy engineering qualifications would be advantageous
- A background in automotive, industrial, or related technical fields
- Strong teamwork abilities coupled with excellent communication skills
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement
The successful candidates will primarily work Monday through Friday, with availability for an on-call roster that may include weekend and public holiday shifts.
