About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient Allied Health Team on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave. This role focuses on rehabilitation for older adults who have been admitted with various injuries and medical conditions. The Occupational Therapist may also be required to support the orthopaedic and neuro-rehabilitation ward as needed.

Depending on the candidate's experience, this role may also include mentorship of rotational Occupational Therapists, students, and delegating work to Allied Health Assistants. We welcome new graduates to apply as well.

As part of the wider Kenepuru Inpatient Allied Health team, which includes over 35 professionals from various disciplines such as Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Language Therapy, Psychology, Diversional Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Social Work, we work collaboratively to provide high-quality services to patients and their families. Our team is supportive, offering training and learning opportunities, supervision, and mentorship, and we celebrate our achievements together.
Recent service improvements include the introduction of Inter-Professional Practice models, an Amputee pathway, a Stroke Pathway, closer collaboration with our early supported discharge team (known as AWHI), and stronger partnerships with our nursing and medical colleagues. We are committed to enhancing our cultural responsiveness and welcome individuals who share our goal of improving health equity outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples.
