About the Role We are seeking a hands-on, self-motivated Pest Control Technician to join our team. If you love the outdoors and are dedicated, reliable, and proactive, this role is ideal for you. As a Pest Control Technician, you will be the first line of defense against pests, providing expert advice and proactive service to our clients. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts and varied start times. You will manage a portfolio of clients across the Whangārei region, servicing the wider Northland area from Kaiwaka to Kaitaia and everything in between. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - A full New Zealand driver’s licence with a clean driving record - A clean criminal record - A genuine love for the outdoors and local environments - Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships - A safety-first mindset and the ability to follow strict health and safety procedures - Confidence using an Android mobile phone and related applications - Comfort working independently in the field while maintaining a collaborative team spirit - Willingness to travel long distances and stay away overnight when required - Physical strength and endurance to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable: - Previous knowledge of pest control methods and regulations - New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations (Level 3) - Urban Pest Control - Working at Heights and EWP licenses and experience - Current NZ Firearm Licence - Ability to drive a manual vehicle Applicants must have the legal right to live and work permanently in New Zealand. Successful candidates will need to complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, which will meet Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
