About the Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Bert Sutcliffe Retirement Village located in Birkenhead (North Shore), Auckland, as a Caregiver in our Special Care Unit. In this role, you will be working with our wonderful residents who require an experienced, reliable individual with a passion for dementia care.
This is a casual position, meaning your work schedule will depend on the village's needs, requiring flexibility and availability. Please note that this is not a permanent position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing residents and providing engaging activities to enhance their well-being.
- Following individual care plans to deliver care that meets our high standards.
- Building lasting relationships with residents and their families.
- Utilizing the latest technology, including our purpose-built care app, myRyman.
- Taking the time to learn about each resident's background and preferences to help them enjoy life to the fullest.
About You
To thrive in our supportive and caring environment, you will possess:
- Experience in dementia care.
- Strong empathy and outstanding communication skills.
- A kind disposition as part of your DNA.
- A reliable, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- A willingness to obtain or complete the relevant unit standards (or an equivalent qualification approved by Ryman) within 18 months of starting employment.
