About the Role
We are seeking a Cardiac Physiologist to join our Medical Outpatients Department at Whangarei Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be an allied health professional with the expertise to perform at an advanced level within the clinical physiology scope of practice.
In this role, you will provide specialized cardiology physiology services with a focus on pacing. You will also contribute to the growth and development of our Cardiology Service, offering clinical teaching and support to patients, their families, students, staff, and other health professionals. Additionally, you will evaluate service requirements and engage in clinical research and audits.

About You
To be successful in this position, you will need to possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Bachelor of Science in Clinical Physiology or an equivalent qualification
- New Zealand registration and a current annual practicing certificate
- A recognized Post Graduate Qualification (IBHRE)
- Registration with CPRB (or an international equivalent) along with a current practicing certificate
- A valid Driver's License and a willingness to travel
- Strong self-management and organizational skills
- The ability to work autonomously and report independently
While not essential, a relevant clinical postgraduate Master’s degree or six years of post-qualification experience in cardiac physiology, including a minimum of four years of pacing experience, is highly desirable.
