We are currently seeking qualified and licensed plumbers with commercial experience to join our team for an exciting opportunity at McMurdo Station in Antarctica for the Summer 2025/26 season. About the Role This unique role offers a chance to work in one of the most remote and stunning locations on Earth. Deployments are anticipated from approximately October 2025 through March 2026. This position requires resilience and a strong work ethic, as you will be residing at McMurdo Station for several months. As a plumber, you will be involved in a large commercial construction project, handling various aspects of plumbing work, including basic and repetitive tasks. Candidates must hold a current New Zealand Plumbing Licence. Requirements Please note that due to travel restrictions, we can only accept applications from New Zealand and US citizens who possess New Zealand or US passports and are currently and permanently living and working in New Zealand. Additionally, the following requirements must be met: - You must be willing to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations. - This role is not a fly-in, fly-out position; you will be on-site for an extended period. - Expect to work long hours, typically six days a week. - Start dates are subject to medical and dental clearances, security checks, your notice period, and flight availability to the ice. - A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required. - A Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are mandatory. - You will need to demonstrate patience throughout the lengthy application process and may be required to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams. We will cover testing and flight costs if traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty.
